Our Story & What We’re About
Hyde Farm started as a café on Emmanuel Road in South London—a little corner of genuine Italian food and good company in the heart of the Hyde Farm Estate. We’ve since taken things online, so the same carefully sourced products we serve every day in Balham can now be delivered to your door, wherever you are in the UK.
Ivan is our CEO. He goes and sources all our glorious products personally. Every year he travels to Puglia and across Italy, visiting small farms and family producers to source the best of what the country has to offer. He’s the reason our range is so unique. We mention him because it matters—there’s a real person behind every product decision, not a buying algorithm.
Because great Italian food shouldn’t be limited to people who happen to live near us in SW12. Our online shop means you can enjoy the same products we stock in the café—proper pasta, our own olive oil, taralli, wine from Puglia, and much more—wherever you are in the UK.
No shortcuts. No industrial flavours. No products that just look Italian on the label. It means our olive oil is genuinely cold-pressed from Puglian groves. Our pasta is made from ancient grains using slow-drying methods. Our taralli are baked to traditional recipes. Every product we stock has been chosen because it’s the real thing.
We do—and they’re some of our favourites. The Hyde Farm range includes taralli (in six flavours), creamy pasta sauces, pestos, passata, jams, marmalade, olive oil, coffee, crostini, grissini, biscotti, limoncello, and our Dark Chocolate and Candied Orange Panettone. All made with the same standards we apply to everything else we source.
Because Puglia is extraordinary and still underrated. Ancient olive groves that predate the Roman Empire. Pasta traditions that haven’t changed in generations. Wines like Primitivo, Negroamaro, and Susumaniello that overdeliver on every level. Ivan knows this region intimately, bringing together the flavours and traditions that define it.
Mostly, but not exclusively. You’ll find Norwegian wild forest honey, Rare Tea from Malawi and beyond, B Corp-certified drinks, and English sparkling wine from Gusbourne in Kent. If something is made properly, with honest ingredients, we’ll consider it. Italy just sets an extraordinarily high bar.
Very much so in spirit—and in practice. Food is personal to us. You won’t find corporate distance here, just a team of people who genuinely care about what they put on your table.
Over 250, across pasta, olive oil, wine, spirits, coffee, tea, snacks, sauces, pantry staples, biscuits, honey, soft drinks, homeware, and hampers. The range evolves with the seasons—Italian food demands it.
We’d love you to. We’re at 71 Emmanuel Road, Hyde Farm Estate, London SW12. Pop in for a coffee, have a browse, and see what we’re all about. Many of our online products are also on the shelf in the café.
Pasta, Olive Oil & Pantry
Over 20 varieties, including our own Hyde Farm label pasta. The Marco Aurelio line features orecchiette, fusilloni, fettuccine, and spaghettoni made from ancient Italian grains. The Senatore Cappelli line uses heritage wheat and traditional slow-drying. We also stock egg pasta, whole wheat, gluten-free, and legume flour pasta—so most dietary needs are covered.
Yes—five shapes: Spaghetti, Mezzi Rigatoni, Fusilli, Penne, and Linguine. All gluten-free and clearly labelled. If you have coeliac disease, please also check the wider allergen notes on each product page and feel free to contact us.
The wheat and the drying time, mainly. Our Hyde Farm pasta uses ancient grain varieties like Senatore Cappelli—a heritage durum wheat that fell out of industrial favour because it’s harder to work with, but produces a far better flavour and texture. It’s also slow-dried, which preserves the natural proteins and gives it that rougher texture that holds sauce properly. The difference on the plate is real.
We stock our own Hyde Farm Extra Virgin Olive Oil—Leccino & Ogliarola from Puglia—available in 750ml and 5L sizes. We also carry infused EVOOs: an organic lemon oil and an organic peperoncino-infused oil from the Il Conte estate in Puglia. Cold-pressed, fruity, and nothing like a supermarket bottle.
Quite a range. Anchovies in oil, Callipo tuna, salted capers, sun-dried tomatoes, grilled peppers, artichoke wedges, pitted Leccino olives, and a full range of Puglian pulses and legume soups from Cerere—including black chickpeas, red chickpeas, cicerchia, lentils, dried peas, and several hearty ready-to-cook zuppe. Real storecupboard depth.
Yes—Marco Fuso Professional Pizza Flour. The name says what it is. If you’re taking your home pizza seriously (and you should), this is a good place to start.
Our Hyde Farm creamy sauces cover Cardoncelli mushroom, artichoke, black kale, and turnip top—distinctive Southern Italian ingredients that are harder to find elsewhere. Our pestos include sun-dried tomato, chilli harissa, aubergine & parmesan, wild mushroom, truffle & artichoke, calabrese, and a spicy sun-dried tomato and fennel seed pesto. Plus passata made from red and yellow tomatoes.
Yes—a well-stocked range. Think anchovies, tuna, olives, capers, artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes, grilled peppers, and a full Cerere legume range. All properly sourced. These are the kind of ingredients that make a simple store cupboard feel Italian.
Yes—rice is part of our Pasta, Rice & Grains category. Check the shop for current availability, as the range does vary.
We do—Norwegian wild forest honey and heather honey from the Viking Bikard honey house in Norway. Raw, unpasteurised, and genuinely different from the industrial stuff. Also available in a smaller 150g format.
Wine, Beer & Spirits
We focus on Puglia—home to some of Italy’s most characterful, underrated wines. Expect Primitivo, Negroamaro, Susumaniello, and Malvasia Nera in red and rosé. For whites, Chardonnay Salento and Donna Tiziana Chardonnay. On the sparkling side, Zanotto Rivolto Spumante, and Gusbourne English sparkling wine and rosé from Kent. Something for every occasion.
If you’re new to Puglian wine, the Il Castellano Primitivo Salento is a good entry point—full-bodied, naturally generous, ready to drink now. For something more structured, the Don Fabio Negroamaro or the Oscar Copertino are worth exploring. And if you want to understand what Puglia does best, the Susumaniello is extraordinary—a grape that almost disappeared and is making a very confident comeback.
Yes—we have a range of wine pairings including Primitivo & Negroamaro, Rosè & Primitivo, Susumaniello & Malvasia Nera, and several others. Good for gifts, better for an evening in.
We do. Gusbourne from Kent—Brut Reserve, Blanc de Blancs, and Rosé. One of England’s finest producers. We include it because it’s genuinely excellent, not because we’re filling a quota.
Raffo from Puglia—a properly regional beer that pairs naturally with everything else on our shelves. Peroni for the classic Italian lager. Lucky Saint (alcohol-free lager and IPA) for those who aren’t drinking. And Gun Brewery for British craft beer in three varieties. You’ll find something for most tastes.
Yes. Lucky Saint Lager and Lucky Saint IPA are both alcohol-free and genuinely good—not a compromise, just a different choice.
A well-considered range. For aperitivo hour: Campari, Aperol, Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth. For after dinner: Fernet Branca, Branca Menta, Amaro del Capo, Amaro Montenegro, Amaro Averna, Amaro Lucano, and Sambuca Molinari Extra. Plus Ferro 7 Italian Gin, Amaretto di Saronno, Cointreau, and both Sorrento Limoncello (our own) and Limoncello Fiume.
Two versions, in fact. Our own Hyde Farm Sorrento Limoncello—made to a traditional recipe—and Limoncello Fiume. Both are the real thing. Keep it in the freezer and serve ice-cold. No further instructions needed.
San Pellegrino Limonata and sparkling water, Crodino (the Italian non-alcoholic aperitivo), Estathé, and a selection of functional drinks including Remedy kombucha, Fighter Shots, and Flawsome! cold-pressed juices. The kind of drinks that suit a Hyde Farm table.
Easily. Aperol, Campari, Crodino, and San Pellegrino sparkling water are all available. Add some taralli and a few olives and you’re in business.
Coffee & Tea
We do. Our Hyde Farm House Coffee Blend is available as whole beans in 220g and 1kg sizes. We also offer a Decaf House Blend for those who love the ritual without the caffeine. Specialty coffee is a serious part of what we do—in the café and at home.
Our Hyde Farm House Coffee Blend is our own recipe—developed to suit both espresso and filter, full-bodied but balanced. Available in 220g for home use or 1kg for the committed. We don’t share every detail of the blend, but we’re happy to talk you through it if you ask.
Yes—a curated range from Rare Tea Company, a small UK business with extraordinary sourcing. Available: Himalayan Ginger & Lemongrass, Whole Chamomile, Lost Malawi, Green Whole Leaf, Earl Grey, and Raf Breakfast. Also available as tea kit bundles.
Yes—an over-cup tea strainer and a glass teapot. Because good tea deserves proper kit.
Currently we stock whole bean. If you’d like ground coffee, get in touch and we’ll let you know if that’s something we can offer.
Snacks, Biscuits & Sweet Things
Taralli are a traditional Southern Italian snack—small, ring-shaped, oven-baked, and deeply addictive. Think somewhere between a breadstick and a cracker, with a distinctive snap and a lingering flavour. Ours are Hyde Farm’s own recipe, made with proper olive oil and no shortcuts. We sell them in six flavours: Classic, Onion, Fennel Seeds, Chilli, Multigrain, and Turmeric with Chia & Flax Seeds.
Beyond taralli: rosemary and wholegrain crostini, turmeric grissini, stiratini breadsticks (olive oil and rosemary), nut mixes (rosemary, chilli, and truffle & pecorino), tapenade (black olive and roast pepper), Italian classic crisps (Fonzies and Cipster), and black olive tapenade. Plus pistachio cream if you want something indulgent on a spoon.
Quite a range. Hyde Farm owns the Roasted Almond Biscotti, Chocolate & Almond Cookies, Chocolate Chip Mezzelune, and dairy-free Frollini Senza Latte. Then there’s the Italian classics: Baci Perugina (in bags, 3-packs, and dark gift boxes), Pocket Coffee, Pan di Stelle, Gocciole, Savoiardi for tiramisu, Cantuccini from Deseo in four flavours, and Mon Cheri. And the Tocchetti—biscuits made with Primitivo wine and chocolate. Very us.
We sell our own Hyde Farm Dark Chocolate and Candied Orange Panettone—a traditional recipe, made slowly, with ingredients we’d stake our reputation on. Seasonal, so worth getting when it’s available. (And always gone too quickly.)
In several forms. Baci Perugina (dark and milk), Mon Cheri, dark hot chocolate, Nocciolata chocolate spread, and the Sultano Gran Nocciolato. Also chocolate features in several of our biscuits and the panettone. It’s well represented.
Yes—our own Hyde Farm range covers Extra Strawberry Jam, Extra Cherry Jam, Extra Fig Jam, and Extra Marmalade of Whole Oranges. The ‘Extra’ isn’t boasting—it refers to the higher fruit content under Italian food law. Genuine ingredients, no industrial shortcuts.
Savoiardi biscuits and specialty coffee. That’s most of the hard work done. The mascarpone you’ll need to source locally—but we’d encourage you to find a good one.
Some are. Our Frollini Senza Latte are specifically dairy-free. Check individual product pages for full ingredient and allergen details—we list everything.
Dietary, Allergens & Ingredients
Yes—full allergen information is listed on every product page. Common allergens across our range include gluten (wheat), milk, eggs, nuts (almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, pistachios), fish, and sulphites in wines. If you have a serious allergy, please read the product page carefully and feel free to contact us before ordering.
Yes. We have five gluten-free pasta shapes (Spaghetti, Mezzi Rigatoni, Fusilli, Penne, Linguine), and many other products across the range are naturally gluten-free—olive oil, wines, most pantry items. The product pages will always confirm this clearly.
Quite a few. Most of our olive oils, pestos, passata, sauces, wines, spirits, jams, honey, and many pantry items are vegan. Some pestos contain parmesan—we flag this clearly. Always check the product page to be sure.
Yes—nine certified organic products in the current range, including our organic lemon extra virgin olive oil and the organic peperoncino-infused oil. Beyond certification, many of our small-producer partners use traditional, low-intervention methods that go well beyond what a standard supermarket ‘organic’ label would imply.
Some of the brands we stock are B Corp certified—including some of the soft drinks, functional drinks, and specialty food producers. We’re drawn to businesses that take their responsibilities seriously.
Yes. We actively highlight this where relevant—it’s one of the reasons we enjoy working with smaller producers who do things differently.
Our wines, spirits, aperitivi, beers, and limoncello contain alcohol. All alcohol content is noted on the product page. We also carry alcohol-free alternatives—Lucky Saint Lager and Lucky Saint IPA, and Crodino (non-alcoholic aperitivo).
Most wines contain sulphites—this is standard and will be noted on the product page. If you have a sulphite sensitivity, get in touch and we’ll help you navigate the range.
For most products, we list calories, carbs, protein, fat, and salt per serving on the product page. Some products also include fibre and additional nutritional notes. If you need specific information for a product and can’t find it, ask us.
Many are—pasta, olive oil, jams, honey, biscuits. Anything containing alcohol is clearly labelled for adults only. For young children with allergies, please read the allergen information on each product carefully.
Sourcing, Quality & Ethics
Taste first. If it’s not genuinely good, it doesn’t make the cut. Ivan visits producers directly, the team evaluates together, and we set a very high bar. There’s no formula—just a clear sense of what ‘real’ tastes like.
Italy accounts for the majority—predominantly Puglia, with products from Veneto, Piemonte, and other regions too. Beyond Italy, you’ll find products from the UK, Norway, New Zealand, Malawi, Spain, Croatia, and Belgium. Everything sourced with the same criteria: genuinely made, genuinely good.
Always. Producers like Il Conte in Puglia, Cerere for legumes, Deseo for cantuccini, Fabio Cordella Cantine for wine. Small companies that have been doing things properly for generations. If a product is available in every major supermarket, we probably don’t stock it.
Sustainability isn’t a marketing claim for us—it’s a consequence of choosing the right producers. Small-scale, seasonal, low-intervention farming is the default for the people we work with. Ivan sees this on the ground when he visits.
Ivan visits them directly. You can read anything on a label; actually going there tells you the truth. That’s what makes the difference.
Because they’re not equivalent. A mass-produced olive oil and a cold-pressed single-estate Puglian oil are different products entirely. Heritage wheat pasta dried slowly and industrial pasta dried fast are not the same. We price honestly—you’re paying for what’s actually in the bottle or the packet.
No. We don’t stock products with industrial additives or artificial preservatives. Real food doesn’t need them.
Completely. We wouldn’t sell Aceto Balsamico di Modena made anywhere else, or Parmigiano Reggiano from outside its designated region. Provenance isn’t just a label claim for us—it’s the point.
Fabio Cordella Cantine is a Puglian winery we work with closely. Their range includes several of our wines, most notably the Don Fabio Negroamaro (2010 and 2015 vintages) and the Totò Primitivo 2022. Ivan knows the winery well. The wines reflect everything we love about Puglia—big character, honest pricing, no pretension.
Regularly. Ivan brings things back from his travels, the team explores new producers, and the seasons bring new arrivals. If there’s something you’d love to see on our shelves, tell us. We are genuinely interested in your opinion.

Delivery costs are shown at checkout, calculated based on your order. We offer free delivery above a certain order threshold—you’ll see this clearly before you confirm.
Most orders arrive within 2-3 working days from your order. You’ll receive a tracking email once your order is on its way.
Yes. You’ll receive a tracking link by email once your order is dispatched.
Not currently—UK only for now. (Slightly ironic given that we’re shipping Italian products out of South London, but international logistics is a different challenge.)
Carefully. Fragile items like wine and oil are protected for transit. We want everything to arrive looking like it left us.
Your courier will follow their standard procedure—leaving with a neighbour, in a safe place, or leaving a card for redelivery. You’ll be notified.
We minimise unnecessary packaging and are continuously working on more sustainable options. Some products require certain materials to arrive safely—we try to make thoughtful choices rather than virtue-signal empty gestures.
We’re working on offering more flexibility here. If you need something for a specific occasion, get in touch before ordering and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
We deliver across the UK. Remote areas may have slightly different delivery timelines or costs—check at checkout for accurate information. If anything looks off, contact us directly. Once confirmed, refunds are typically processed within 5–7 business days, depending on your bank.

Our Hyde Farm Sorrento Limoncello is made to a traditional recipe—lemon zest steeped in pure alcohol, with no artificial flavourings. Serve it straight from the freezer. It’s the proper end to an Italian meal.
Good question. The creamy sauces—Cardoncelli mushroom, artichoke, black kale—work beautifully with a wide pasta like fusilloni or paccheri, which catch the sauce in their ridges. The pestos are happy with most shapes. The passata is as good for cooking as it is straight from the jar. We share pairing suggestions on product pages too.
Check your tracking link first—most delays are with the courier. If something seems genuinely wrong, contact us and we’ll investigate and make it right. You can contact us by visiting the contact page ( https://hydefarm.co.uk/contact/ ) or sending an email to hello@hydefarm.co.uk.
The Café, Gifting & Community
A proper neighbourhood spot. Specialty coffee, fresh food, Italian products on the shelf, and the kind of atmosphere where you might pop in for five minutes and stay for an hour. Less fine dining, more laid-back foodie chic. Come and judge for yourself.
Several things. Wine hampers, tea kit bundles, gift cards, taralli sets, biscuit selections, panettone, limoncello, and the Hyde Farm tote bag. We also stock a Tartan Blanket Co picnic blanket and a premium wool blanket for those who want something more substantial. There’s also a bottle pourer for the wine lovers in your life.
Yes—we stock cards featuring Balham and Tooting Bec Common, made for and by the neighbourhood. Because Hyde Farm is proudly South London, and we like to celebrate that.
From time to time—tastings, producer evenings, seasonal celebrations. Follow us on social media to hear what’s coming up.
Sign up to our newsletter or follow us on social. It’s where you’ll find new arrivals, Ivan’s latest sourcing finds from Puglia, seasonal specials, and the occasional thing we just couldn’t help sharing.
