Serving Suggestions & Cooking Instructions
Character: Known as one of Italy’s most “elegant” varieties, Leccino olives are prized for their smooth, mild and buttery profile. Unlike more aggressive salt-cured olives, these offer a subtly sweet finish that won’t dominate other ingredients.
Method: These are pitted for “effortless convenience.” Because they are preserved in a light brine, they can be used straight from the jar. To enjoy their delicate flavour in hot dishes, add them toward the end of the cooking process to maintain their soft texture.
The Elegant Antipasto: Serve these as a standalone snack or alongside mild cheeses like Mozzarella or a young Asiago. Their gentle character makes them a perfect palate cleanser between more intensely flavoured meats.
Focaccia & Baking: Press these pitted olives into the top of a focaccia dough or fold them into a Mediterranean bread loaf. Their buttery fats melt slightly into the dough during baking, infusing the bread with “pure flavour.”
Delicate Pasta Dishes: Toss into a Pasta alla Puttanesca if you prefer a milder version, or pair them with cherry tomatoes and fresh sea bass for a light, summery linguine.
The Perfect Salad Olive: Because they are stone-free and mild, they are the ideal choice for a Greek Salad or a Niçoise-style salad where you want a soft, fruity olive note rather than a sharp, salty hit.
